Bimhuis, mugmetdegoudentand en DUS Architects winnen de Amsterdamprijs
Bimhuis, podium voor jazz en improvisatie, theatermakers mugmetdegouden tand en architectencollectief DUS zijn de drie winnaars van de Amsterdamprijs voor de Kunst 2011. Burgemeester Eberhard Van der Laan reikte op 25 augustus 2011 in Paradiso ieder de prijs uit van € 35.000.
'Deze drie inspirerende winnaars staan open naar de wereld, slaan bruggen, schuwen geen experiment en hebben oog voor kwaliteit en mogelijkheden. Ze gebruiken hun tomeloze energie en artistieke blik op de wereld om de samenleving te verrijken met kritische eigenzinnigheid’, aldus de jury onder leiding van Jildou van der Bijl.
Naast de winnaars waren ook comedytrainoprichter en cabaretier Raoul Heertje, global-avant-impro-dance-musicband The Ex, schrijver Asis Aynan en online jukebox 22Tracks voor de prijs genomineerd vanwege hun indrukwekkende en vernieuwende culturele bijdrage aan de kunst in Amsterdam.
De belangrijkste kunstprijs van de hoofdstad wordt jaarlijks door het Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst toegekend aan drie kunstenaars of instellingen, als stimulans voor de artistieke veelzijdigheid van de stad.
De juryleden van de Amsterdamprijs 2011 zijn Jildou van der Bijl, voorzitter, Maarten van Hinte, Wanda Reisel, Jaïr Tchong en Anna Tilroe.
Van de uitreiking wordt een registratie uitgezonden door SALTO, de publieke omroep van Amsterdam (uitzending 3, 4 en 5 september a.s.).
